Winter sales in Europe

Winter sales in Europe. When and where can you make the best purchases?

Winter sales in Europe are a good opportunity to replenish your wardrobe for little money. Also abroad, you can find brands that are not represented in Ukraine, and discounts on goods are often much higher. And shopping can be combined with skiing or sightseeing.

Austria

The sales period in Austria begins after Christmas and lasts until the end of January or until mid-February. If you want to ski in the Austrian resorts, you should visit Vienna, which is the best place for shopping in Austria.

The most popular shopping street is Mariahilferstrasse, where you can find both international chains and boutiques with lesser-known brands.
Another street worth visiting is Kärntnerstrasse with a brand like Humanic (an Austrian brand of low-cost shoes) or multi-brand stores like Steffl.

For luxury products, go to Kohlmarkt, and for fashion from local designers in Neubaugasse.
The biggest discounts are always at the end of sales, not only in Vienna, but also in other European cities. However, keep in mind that at the end of the offer period it may be poorer.

Germany

Sales in Germany once began much later in late January and lasted two weeks. Then these rules were changed, and now stores can extend the period of sales.

Naturally, first of all, it is worth visiting Berlin, which is considered one of the most interesting fashionable places in Europe. Sales start on January 9th and last until the first week of February. It hosts design fairs where you can find things from designers from around the world.

Berlin

Berlin, look for original, unique fashionable clothes in boutiques located in the Mitte district and the Kreuzberg district or in the Bikini Berlin building, a conceptual shopping center.

Also in Berlin, you should visit the Kurfürstendamm boulevard (Kurfrstendamm) – the largest and most popular shopping area. It will not be superfluous to go to Primark, where prices are very low, and to Galeria Kaufhof, which is known for its extremely wide assortment, and not just clothes.

Cologne

Cologne is the second most attractive shopping city in Germany. Schildergasse is the most visited shopping street in the whole country. Niche brand boutiques can be found on the Ehrenstrasse.

Czech Republic

Sales in the Czech Republic begin after the holidays and last 1-2 months. You can go shopping in Prague.
On the outskirts of Prague is the Fashion Area Prague outlet, which is attractive both in price and in range. It presents more than 200 brands: from sports (Adidas, Asics) and everyday (Gap, Pepe Jeans or Levi’s), to luxurious (Baldinini, Guess, Armani).
There are also brands in the outlet that are not available in Ukraine. Each store has an entrance “from the yard”, so it looks more like a chain of streets than a block shopping center. Sale will last until February 13.

Italy

Shopping in Italy is a real pleasure for fashion lovers. My first thought is Milan, and indeed, in the capital of Lombardy, you can make wonderful purchases. No less attractive is Rome with its charming streets, antique boutiques and offers of local craftsmen.
In both cities, luxury is intertwined with fashion and handicrafts. When visiting Italy, it is best to look for unique fashionable “pearls” because they are the greatest wealth of Italian fashion.

Milan

Fans of famous luxury brands will certainly not be disappointed. In Milan, they should go on Via Montte Napoleone, and in Rome – on Via dei Condotti.
In addition, it is worth taking a look at the mass market, the assortment of Zara or Bershki abroad often differs from what we find in Ukraine.

Rome

Popular shopping streets with offers for any wallet in Rome are Via del Corso and Cola di Rienzo. The latter has a Coin Excelsior department store with more expensive brands that we will not find in Ukraine.

In Milan, the Rinascente department store and the 10 Corso Como outlet are a must-see, and between them is Corso Vittorio Emanuele, the most famous street. From there you should go to the famous “Gallery Vittorio Emanuele II” (“Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II”). To make purchases there, you need a really thick wallet, but you should not look at beautiful exhibitions.
There are also several well-stocked outlets on the Apennine peninsula, similar to Prague. One of the best is the Barberino Designer Outlet, located near Florence, but you must get there by car.
Sales in Italy in most regions begin on January 5 and are regulated by law. Price reduction occurs gradually, usually in three stages and reaches -70%.

England

If shopping in England is, then only in London! London is the true cradle of youth style.
The most famous shopping streets are Oxford St and Carnaby St with more than 300 stores. Bond St with high-end boutiques and exclusive items.
You cannot miss the famous Harrods Gallery, and if you are looking for toys, head to Hamleys.
Inexpensive purchases can be made in all chain stores, including Primark. London is full of niche fashion boutiques, after which it’s worth going to King’s Rd, where Mary Kuant, the author of the famous miniskirt, once ran her store!
Sales in England have already begun. They always start on the so-called “Boxing Day,” or December 26th.
